Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is targeting an increase in female representation to 27% at the managerial level by 2030 as part of the company’s commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Telkom’s President Director, Dian Siswarini, stated that gender equality is a crucial foundation for building an inclusive organisation capable of delivering diverse perspectives to drive innovation.

“We believe Indonesian women possess immense potential and capabilities. What is needed is equal opportunities for growth, self-actualisation, and taking on strategic leadership roles,” said Dian in a statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

TelkomGroup records that by 2025, the proportion of women will reach 31.7% of the total workforce, with 21% of them occupying managerial positions.

Looking ahead, TelkomGroup targets female representation to reach 32% of the total workforce and 27% at the managerial level by 2030.

In 2025, female representation at the senior management level is recorded at 14.0%, middle management at 23.2%, and supervisor level at 33.4%.

TelkomGroup is also promoting increased female participation in strategic functions, including revenue-generating functions at 8.3% as well as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields at 8.1%.

Dian added that women’s empowerment should be understood as efforts to open equal access to opportunities and advancement, particularly in the digital era.

“In the digital era, connectivity becomes a vital bridge for women to become more empowered. With the widest possible access to information, knowledge, and opportunities, women can advance and develop further,” she said.

In addition to promoting representation, TelkomGroup provides supportive facilities such as Telkom Daycare and lactation rooms to create a conducive work environment for women’s productivity.

Telkom states that this commitment is part of the GoZero-Sustainability Action by Telkom Indonesia strategy through the Empower Our People pillar, as well as the measured and sustainable implementation of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles.
