Telkom Strengthens Digital Literacy for Women-Owned SMEs at Kartini BISA Fest
The momentum of Kartini Day serves as a reminder for us all to embrace the values of Kartini’s struggle. Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is promoting the strengthening of the role of women entrepreneurs in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through digital-based mentoring programmes, one of which is the Kartini BISA Fest held from 20–24 April 2026 at Telkom Hub in South Jakarta. Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini stated that the momentum of Kartini Day serves as a reminder to adapt the values of Raden Ajeng Kartini’s struggle to today’s fully digital life, so society needs to continuously learn and utilise technology to create broader impacts. “The momentum of Kartini Day serves as a reminder for us all to take the values of Kartini’s struggle and adapt them to today’s fully digital life. Therefore, it is important for us to keep learning, getting to know, and utilising technology to create broader impacts,” said Dian in a statement in Jakarta on Monday. Kartini BISA Fest is organised as part of the women MSME empowerment programme through strengthening business capacity, utilising digital technology, and enhancing product competitiveness in domestic and global markets. In the event, Telkom presents a number of integrated agendas, from a culinary bazaar involving 40 women MSMEs, a cyber security seminar attended by more than 350 participants, to training on utilising artificial intelligence (AI) to support efficiency in creating creative content and digital marketing. Telkom stated that the programme is part of the implementation of the company’s “BISA” culture (Bravery, Integrity, Service Excellence, Agility), which emphasises collaboration and innovation. Telkom also mentioned that out of more than 112,000 mentored MSMEs, 73,152 of them are women entrepreneurs participating in digital-based mentoring programmes. In addition to mentoring, Telkom provides support for enhancing product competitiveness through the Packfest programme with assistance of 500,000 printed packages, as well as facilitating free halal certification for 2,250 women MSMEs. Dian symbolically handed over halal certification assistance and packaging grants to representatives of mentored MSMEs as part of the event series. Telkom stated that the support also reaches MSME actors with disabilities as part of the company’s commitment to providing equal access to digital transformation. Based on data from the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemenkomdigi) for 2025, 64.5 per cent or around 37 million MSME actors in Indonesia are run by women. Meanwhile, data from the Halal Product Assurance Organising Agency (BPJPH) for 2025 shows that only around 35 per cent of MSMEs have halal certification. “As a technology company, Telkom has a responsibility to expand access and improve digital literacy across all levels of society. Our focus on MSME mentoring is part of that effort,” said Dian. Telkom stated that Kartini BISA Fest also aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly the points on gender equality and inclusive economic growth.
