Telkom Signs MoU with Singapore's EDB to Boost Digital Infrastructure
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has entered into a partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Cooperation on Digital Infrastructure.
The collaboration forms part of a series of initiatives announced during the Indonesia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat agenda. The MoU was signed by Telkom’s Chief Executive Officer, Dian Siswarini, together with the Managing Director of the Singapore Economic Development Board, Jermaine Loy, in Jakarta on Monday (6 July 2026).
The MoU is one of the business-to-business (B2B) partnerships showcased during the series of bilateral meetings between the leaders of Indonesia and Singapore. The cooperation reflects the close partnership between the two countries in driving sustainable regional digital economic growth.
The signing of the MoU also supports the implementation of various strategic cooperation initiatives between the two countries, particularly in developing the digital economy, sustainable infrastructure, and the energy transition, which are shared priorities.
In a separate statement, Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja, Managing Director of Danantara Investment Management, said Danantara views the initiative as a strategic step capable of generating both economic and developmental value.
“When digital infrastructure, green energy, and regional cooperation are developed in an integrated manner, the resulting projects become more competitive, sustainable, and attractive for long-term value creation. This kind of collaboration model will serve as an important foundation in strengthening Indonesia’s position as the centre of regional digital economic growth,” he said in a statement issued on Monday (13 July 2026).
Setyanto Hantoro, Managing Director Business 2 at Danantara Asset Management, affirmed that developing cooperation through the MoU on digital infrastructure demonstrates how the national assets and capabilities of state-owned enterprises (BUMN) can be orchestrated into globally competitive business platforms.
According to him, the collaboration will not only create new infrastructure but also open up long-term business growth opportunities.
Through this partnership, TelkomGroup and EDB will explore the development of low-carbon digital infrastructure to support the regional technology ecosystem, leveraging cross-border low-carbon electricity supplies to accelerate the region’s energy transition.
Telkom’s Chief Executive Officer, Dian Siswarini, said the collaboration is a strategic move for Telkom to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the regional digital infrastructure value chain.
“We believe the future of the digital economy requires cross-border collaboration that can integrate connectivity, digital infrastructure, and clean energy on a sustainable basis,” she explained.
Dian said that through this partnership, Telkom is ready to deliver world-class digital infrastructure that adds value for both countries while supporting the growth of the region’s digital economy.
The signing of the MoU also reaffirms Telkom’s role as a strategic partner of the government in strengthening Indonesia’s position as a key player in the regional digital ecosystem, while promoting the integration of digital infrastructure and green energy as the foundation of future economic growth.
Seno Soemadji, Telkom’s Director of Strategic Business Development and Portfolio, said the collaboration implements Telkom’s strategic direction in building an increasingly integrated digital ecosystem at the regional level.
“We recognise that establishing an Indonesia-Singapore digital corridor requires aligning various strategic interests, whether in digital infrastructure, green energy, or cooperation among stakeholders. Therefore, initiatives like this do not arise from mere momentum, but rather through strategic planning that has been built incrementally to deliver collaboration that brings long-term value to both countries,” Seno concluded.
Going forward, Telkom will continue to expand strategic collaboration with the government, global partners, and industry players to accelerate the development of a digital ecosystem that is increasingly integrated, sustainable, and globally competitive.
The initiative is expected to serve as an important milestone in strengthening the strategic relationship between Indonesia and Singapore, while opening up new investment and collaboration opportunities for the development of the regional digital economy.
