Telkom Signs MoU with Singapore's EDB to Boost Digital Infrastructure

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has entered into a partnership with the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Cooperation on Digital Infrastructure. The collaboration was announced as part of the Indonesia-Singapore Leaders’ Retreat. The MoU represents a form of business-to-business (B2B) cooperation reflecting the close partnership between the two nations in driving sustainable regional digital economic growth. It also supports the implementation of various strategic cooperation initiatives between Indonesia and Singapore, particularly in digital economy development, sustainable infrastructure, and energy transition. Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja, Managing Director of Danantara Investment Management, stated that the initiative is a strategic step capable of generating both economic and developmental value. He noted that when digital infrastructure, green energy, and regional cooperation are developed in an integrated manner, the resulting projects become more competitive, sustainable, and attractive for long-term value creation. Setyanto Hantoro, Managing Director of Business 2 at Danantara Asset Management, added that the collaboration demonstrates how national assets and capabilities owned by state-owned enterprises can be orchestrated into a globally competitive business platform. Through this partnership, TelkomGroup and EDB will explore the development of low-carbon digital infrastructure to support a regional technology ecosystem utilising cross-border low-carbon electricity supply, thereby accelerating the energy transition in the region. Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini said the collaboration is a strategic move to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the regional digital infrastructure value chain. She expressed confidence that the future of the digital economy requires cross-border collaboration that integrates connectivity, digital infrastructure, and clean energy sustainably. Seno Soemadji, Director of Strategic Business Development & Portfolio at Telkom, stated that the collaboration is an implementation of Telkom’s strategic direction to build an increasingly integrated digital ecosystem at the regional level. He emphasised that creating an Indonesia-Singapore digital corridor requires alignment of various strategic interests, achieved through gradual strategic planning. Moving forward, Telkom will continue to expand strategic collaborations with the government, global partners, and industry players to accelerate the development of an integrated, sustainable, and globally competitive digital ecosystem.
