Telkom, Siemens sign deal
JAKARTA: PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia said on Thursday that it has contracted Siemens Consortium to build telecommunication infrastructure in Kalimantan and Sulawesi islands for around US$25 million.
Telkom, the country's largest telecom company, said it will use its internal cash flow to fund the construction which is expected to be completed within 17 months.
The Siemens Consortium comprises Siemens AG, PT Siemen Indonesia, PT LEN Industry and Corning Cable System.
Telkom currently runs around 8 million telephone lines across the country. --Dow Jones
