Telkom Sharpens Developer Competencies through AI Connect Series in Makassar
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom), through its Telkom AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) initiative, held the AI Connect Offline Series at the AI Center in Makassar. This event serves as an effort to strengthen the capabilities of developers in eastern Indonesia in utilising artificial intelligence in the software development process. Carrying the theme Exploring the Role of AI Coding Assistants in Modern Software Development, the event discussed the use of AI in supporting application development processes, from code writing to data-based optimisation. Telkom’s IT Digital Director, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi, emphasised the important role of digital talent in driving transformation across various sectors. Faizal also highlighted the utilisation of technologies such as machine learning and deep learning in supporting data processing and the development of AI-based systems. “The utilisation of AI Coding Assistants is one of the strategic steps in increasing developer productivity while accelerating the development cycle of digital solutions relevant to industry needs,” said Faizal. This event is an implementation of the AI Connect pillar, one of the five main pillars in AI CoE, which focuses on strengthening collaboration between digital talent, communities, and industry players. This pillar is integrated with AI Campus, AI Playground, AI Hub, and AI Native in building a comprehensive AI ecosystem, from talent development to the application of solutions across various sectors. Accelerating Software Development CTOO of Digisaurus.id, Muhammad Zulfikar Aris, as one of the community partners, shared practical experiences regarding the use of AI Coding Assistants to improve work efficiency and produce more optimal code. In that session, the discussion focused on how AI Coding Assistants can accelerate the end-to-end software development cycle. This technology is considered capable of helping developers in compiling code more efficiently, minimising errors, and optimising data-based application performance. The use of AI-based assistants has now become an important part of modern developer workflows to significantly increase productivity and output quality. To provide a more comprehensive experience, the event was equipped with direct practice sessions, where participants developed simple portfolio applications using platforms like FlutterFlow. This session provided a concrete picture of accelerating the application development process through the utilisation of AI technology. On the same occasion, Telkom also introduced the Telkom AI Connect Community Platform as a digital collaboration platform that provides the latest technology information, competency development, and access to project and freelance work opportunities for digital talents. Through this event, Telkom continues to promote the strengthening of the digital talent ecosystem and the enhancement of technological literacy in society. The AI Center in Makassar is expected to serve as a sustainable collaboration hub in supporting the birth of digital innovations and the development of talent capabilities in Indonesia.
