Telkom Ready to Accelerate Share Buyback Plan
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) is preparing steps to accelerate the implementation of its share buyback programme, worth up to Rp4 trillion, which was approved at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on 8 June 2026. The programme remains within its approved 12-month period, from 9 June 2026 to 8 June 2027.
As of 19 October 2026, more than Rp3 trillion of the approved buyback allocation remained unused.
The planned acceleration is part of Telkom’s capital-allocation strategy to support long-term value creation for shareholders. The timing and amount of purchases will take into account market conditions, the company’s cash position, and operational and investment requirements, in accordance with applicable regulations.
Telkom President Director Nanang Hendarno said the buyback was being reviewed with a continued emphasis on capital-allocation discipline, reflecting management’s confidence in the company’s sound business fundamentals and long-term prospects.
“We believe Telkom has strong business fundamentals and long-term growth potential. The buyback is one expression of our confidence in the company’s value, alongside the transformation of TelkomGroup through the TLKM 30 strategy, which is intended to optimise business potential and increase corporate value,” Nanang said in a written statement on Tuesday (20 October 2026).
Telkom Finance and Risk Management Director Angelo said the buyback would continue to take account of capital-allocation priorities and the company’s solid cash-flow capacity.
The programme is funded from the company’s internal cash. Its implementation takes account of liquidity requirements and capital-allocation priorities in order to preserve financial flexibility.
“The buyback is part of a capital-allocation decision that we assess in a disciplined manner, taking into account the company’s fundamentals and future business prospects. We ensure that every decision on the use of capital remains aligned with TelkomGroup’s strategic priorities, while maintaining the company’s financial health so it can support sustainable growth,” Angelo said.
As Telkom transitions towards a Strategic Holding model based on a Holding Company-Operating Company (HoldCo-OpCo) structure, it is continuing to accelerate portfolio realignment and efficiency measures to strengthen operational performance. These initiatives are also intended to improve EBITDA margins and support sustainable business growth, laying the foundations for shareholder value creation.
