Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Artificial intelligence (AI) spending in Indonesia is projected to rise significantly in the coming years. PT Telkom Indonesia estimates that the national AI market value could exceed Rp 100 trillion by 2030.

Telkom’s VP of IT Digital Strategy & Performance, Jokoadi Wibowo, stated that globally, AI has become a technology that will endure and continue to develop.

This is reflected in the adoption rates across various countries, which show positive trends with consistent double-digit year-on-year growth.

According to him, Indonesia is still somewhat behind in terms of adoption compared to several other countries. However, in terms of growth, Indonesia records the highest rate.

“Indonesia itself is still a bit behind in adoption, but our growth rate is the highest compared to other countries,” he said at the Tech & Telco Forum 2026 at Menara Bank Mega, Jakarta, on Wednesday (6/5/2026).

“Even by 2030, the market is estimated to see AI spending exit at 100 trillion rupiah,” he added.

This projection indicates the vast opportunities as well as the urgency of implementing AI domestically.

The need for this technology is increasing along with the push for digital transformation in various sectors, from public services to industry.
