Telkom must stop advertising itself
Telkom must stop advertising itself
From Rakyat Merdeka
On Aug. 10, 1999, I submitted an application for the installation of a new telephone line in my residence in the Tegal Alur Kalideres area to the state-owned company Telkom of Sumur Bor chapter, Kalideres, West Jakarta. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the telephone line to be connected and have to be content keeping my phone number 6069027 and application number 1248899. I used to dial number 162 (Telkom's inquiry service) to ask about the matter and was invariably told that there was not yet a telephone line network in my area. Now, 162 has been changed into number 147 but I still get the same reply about my application.
To my astonishment, a neighbor of mine got a telephone connection this year a week after his application had been submitted. When my wife complained about our telephone connection to Telkom officers installing my neighbor's telephone connection, one of them offered his assistance for a payment of Rp 1.2 million.
When will Telkom eradicate the practice of corruption and collusion? Telkom must take stringent measures against its delinquent employees.
Telkom should not advertise about new telephone connections if it lacks telephone networks.
