Telkom may delay earnings report
JAKARTA: PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia said on Tuesday it may miss a deadline for filing its 2004 earnings report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, or SEC, on June 30.
The largest Indonesian telecommunications company said its auditor hadn't completed the report, which will present its earnings based on the U.S. generally accepted accounting principles, or GAAP.
"We expect KPMG, our auditor, to deliver the 2004 earnings report based on the U.S. GAAP early July," Telkom's spokeswoman Dina Arifani told Dow Jones. She expects that the U.S. SEC will extend the deadline for Telkom to file the 2004 report by 15 days to July 15.
She also said that the 2004 earnings report doesn't contain any accounting problems.
In 2003, Telkom failed to report its 2002 earnings based on the U.S. GAAP as its auditor wasn't recognized by the U.S. SEC. -- Dow Jones
