PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM) is preparing to undertake a significant step in its business transformation. Through coordination with the State-Owned Enterprise Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) and Danantara, the state-owned telecommunications issuer will liquidate dozens of its subsidiaries as part of a group streamlining strategy.

The Head of BP BUMN and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Danantara, Dony Osklagia, revealed that the liquidation process targets approximately 12 to 14 subsidiaries. This move is the initial stage of a larger target to simplify the Telkom Group structure, which currently comprises dozens of entities.

“Twelve or 14 will be liquidated. I forgot the exact number, I will check later,” said Dony when met following a Working Meeting with Commission VI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday (8/6/2026).

Despite the closure of several entities, Dony guaranteed that this policy will not result in any redundancies or layoffs. The scheme adopted is consolidation, where employees from the liquidated subsidiaries will be transferred to other business units with similar focuses. He cited the fibre optic sector as an example, which will be consolidated into one large entity. Through this merger, the company’s business scale will increase, enabling it to absorb the workforce from the merged entities.

This transformation extends beyond just a dozen companies. BP BUMN and Danantara have agreed on a long-term roadmap to drastically reduce the number of Telkom’s subsidiaries. From a total of 67 subsidiaries currently in existence, Telkom is targeted to have only 19 entities by the end of 2026.

This streamlining effort aims to strengthen Telkom’s role as a strategic national digital holding company that is more adaptive. The primary focus for future development will be directed towards several priority programmes.

On the corporate side, Telkom recently held its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS). The President Director of Telkom, Dian Siswarini, stated that the results of the meeting reflect the company’s commitment to increasing added value for shareholders amidst the dynamics of the digital industry.

In addition to approving the replacement of two members of the Board of Commissioners to strengthen transformation oversight, the AGMS also established several strategic financial decisions.

Through the strengthening of governance and the optimisation of assets, BP BUMN and Danantara hope that Telkom Indonesia can become a healthier, more agile driver of the digital economy, capable of competing on the international stage.
