The state-owned telecommunications issuer, PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (TLKM), recorded a net profit of Rp 10.6 trillion in the first half of 2026. This figure represents a 1.4% increase compared to the same period last year. However, the net profit margin was recorded at 14%, a decrease of 35 basis points year-on-year. Meanwhile, Telkom’s normalised net profit reached Rp 11.3 trillion, growing by 6.2% annually.

Quoting its financial report submitted to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), management explained that this performance growth was primarily driven by the monetisation of the mobile business and the implementation of cost discipline.

This profit achievement was supported by consolidated revenue rising 3.8% annually to Rp 75.9 trillion. This revenue growth coincided with an increase in the company’s profitability, with Telkom recording an EBITDA of Rp 37.5 trillion, up 3.8% year-on-year, with an EBITDA margin at the 49.4% level.

On a quarterly basis, Telkom’s performance in the second quarter of 2026 also showed growth. The company’s revenue reached Rp 28.02 trillion, an increase of 1.6% compared to the first quarter of 2026 revenue of Rp 27.58 trillion. This revenue was also higher than the second quarter of 2025, which reached Rp 26.616 trillion.

However, this revenue growth was not fully reflected in quarterly EBITDA. EBITDA in the second quarter of 2026 was recorded at Rp 12.95 trillion, down 1.3% from Rp 13.12 trillion in the first quarter of 2026.

Regarding net profit, Telkom recorded Rp 5.27 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, an increase of approximately 3.7% compared to the first quarter of 2026’s Rp 5.09 trillion. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, which stood at Rp 4.224 trillion, the second quarter 2026 net profit surged by approximately 24.9%.

The customer base for Telkomsel’s mobile segment in the second quarter of 2026 was recorded at 153.5 million customers, a slight decrease of 0.1% from 153.7 million customers in the first quarter of 2026. Compared to the second quarter of 2025, the number of mobile customers fell from 158.4 million to 153.5 million, a decrease of approximately 3.1%.

Meanwhile, the payload in the second quarter of 2026 also decreased by approximately 0.7% from 5,798 PB in the second quarter of 2025. The payload trend has shown relatively fluctuating figures. In the second quarter of 2025, the payload was recorded at 5,798 PB, then fell to 5,622 PB in the third quarter of 2025. The figure then rose again to 5,832 PB in the fourth quarter of 2025, before falling to 5,770 PB in the first quarter of 2026 and 5,758 PB in the second quarter of 2026.

Entering the second half of 2026, the company has several targets to achieve its annual guidance, particularly maintaining normalised revenue growth in the 1%-3% range, increasing the normalised EBITDA margin to above 50%, and directing the C2R ratio to the 17%-19% range.
