Telkom Indonesia Adjusts Investment in Response to Rising US Dollar
Telkom Indonesia is adjusting its USD-denominated infrastructure investment allocations to face the rise in the US dollar and macroeconomic uncertainty, as reported on 20 May 2026. The budget revision is a priority because procurement of telecommunications infrastructure is heavily dependent on foreign currencies. Nevertheless, management emphasises that demand for internet services continues to grow consistently for both B2B and B2C. ‘Because perhaps our investments in dollars, there are some that we may adjust today. But basically from market and customer needs, the internet continues to grow, whether B2B or B2C; it grows continuously. No doubt,’ said Dian during the TLKM 30 presentation: Driving Sustainable Growth Through Strategic Transformation at the Telkom office in Jakarta, Wednesday 20 May 2026. The telecoms sector remains robust as its role has shifted to a basic necessity. To enhance agility and profitability, the company is implementing TLKM 30 built on four pillars: governance improvements, streamlining subsidiaries, optimising value through InfraNexia, and integrated operations that were previously overlapping. The consumer segment (B2C) via Telkomsel now dominates 70 per cent of the business with 100 per cent penetration, while fixed broadband still has around 20 per cent room for growth. The remaining 30 per cent of the business is supported by the corporate (B2B) Infra, B2B ICT, and international markets. The company targets a balanced contribution of revenue between the consumer segment and other business segments by 2030. ‘The B2B Infra and international segments have shown extraordinary growth. For B2B ICT, we are currently developing it to become a new source of growth in the future,’ concluded Dian. Development of the B2B ICT segment is currently undertaken through subsidiaries such as Telkomsigma, Infomedia, and Nutech. The international line of business is driven by Telin to target a broader market.
