Telkom: Human Resources Strengthening is Critical Investment for Indonesia's Development
Investment in education and youth development will have long-term positive impacts on national development.
Jakarta (ANTARA) — State-owned telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk views the strengthening of human resource (HR) quality as a fundamental foundation and critical investment in driving the nation’s future progress.
“We are convinced that investment in education and young people will have long-term impacts on national development,” said Telkom Chief Executive Officer Dian Siswarini in a statement issued in Jakarta on Thursday.
Siswarini explained that the company, through various social initiatives, focuses on strengthening educational access for children across different regions of Indonesia, primarily through reliable and equitable digital telecommunications services.
Furthermore, TelkomGroup has also taken on a role in enhancing learning motivation among students through the distribution of school supplies, which is being carried out simultaneously by state-owned enterprises across various regions of Indonesia.
Siswarini stated that TelkomGroup distributed 2,500 school supply packages to students in North Kalimantan, including Tarakan City, Malinau Regency, and Nunukan Regency.
The distribution of assistance comprised 1,500 packages in Tarakan City and 500 packages each in Malinau Regency and Nunukan Regency.
This distribution activity was implemented through collaboration between various entities within TelkomGroup, including Telkomsel, InfraNexia, TelkomAkses, and Telkom Property.
The collaboration also supported the coordination process with schools and ensured that assistance was received directly by students.
“Through TelkomGroup’s support for this programme, we hope to open more opportunities and boost motivation for young people to grow, learn, and pursue a better future,” said Siswarini.
In its transformation journey, Telkom continues to strengthen the company’s strategic direction through the TLKM 30 strategy, which is also aligned with the Danantara agenda.
Focusing on strengthening disciplinary governance, streamlining business portfolio restructuring, increasing focus on long-term value creation, and strengthening strategic holding structures.
“Through these steps, Telkom further reinforces its role as an enabler of the national digital ecosystem with global competitiveness whilst driving sustained contribution to Indonesia’s economy,” said Siswarini.
