State-owned telephone company Telkom's subscribers have to pay extra charges for the services that should be free. In order to obtain detailed call records (intagjastel), for instance, one must pay an extra Rp 1,500 per sheet. For Internet connections through telkomnet instan, the rate is Rp 9,000 per hour, which is expensive.
Why aren't intagjastel sheets provided free of charge as part of the national telecommunications company's service for its customers, much like bank account reports are free? Similarly, why isn't the ordinary, local rate applied to Internet connections as part of the company's service for its subscribers?
