Telkom Encourages Women to Take Leading Roles in Leadership
PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment as part of its GoZero% - Sustainability Action by Telkom Indonesia strategy, through the Empower Our People pillar. The Telkom Group is implementing the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) in a measurable and sustainable manner to strengthen an adaptive, innovative, and competitive organisation amid the acceleration of digital transformation.
Telkom’s President Director, Dian Siswarini, stated that gender equality is the foundation for building an inclusive organisation capable of delivering diverse perspectives.
“We believe Indonesian women have tremendous potential and capabilities. What is needed is equal opportunities to develop, actualise themselves, and take strategic roles in leadership. When that access is opened, women can make real contributions to driving innovation, as well as benefiting society and the nation,” she said, quoted on Tuesday (21/4/2026).
This commitment is reflected in measurable achievements. In 2025, the proportion of women in the Telkom Group reached 31.7% of total employees, with 21% of them occupying managerial positions.
Looking ahead, the Telkom Group targets increasing female representation to 32% of total employees and 27% at the managerial level by 2030 as part of its targeted DEI strategy.
The strengthening of women’s leadership is also evident across various organisational levels. In 2025, female representation at the senior management level reached 14.0%, middle management 23.2%, and supervisory level 33.4%.
On the other hand, the Telkom Group continues to encourage increased female participation in strategic functions, including revenue-generating functions at 8.3% and in Science, Technology, Engineering/Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields at 8.1%, as efforts to expand women’s access in technology-based sectors.
Furthermore, the Telkom Group is empowering women through representation in top-level leadership. The presence of Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini reflects women’s active role in driving digital transformation while building an inclusive work culture.
Her contributions have also received recognition through the Excellent Mom in Digital Transformation and Regional Connectivity Leadership award at the Wonder Mom Awards 2025, as well as the Inspirational Women Awards 2025, further affirming women’s role at the forefront of the digital telecommunications industry.
In line with the spirit of Raden Ajeng Kartini’s struggle that continues to resonate in the present context, Dian emphasised that women’s empowerment must be understood as an effort to open equal access to opportunities and progress.
“In the digital era, connectivity becomes a vital bridge for women to become more empowered. With the widest possible access to information, knowledge, and opportunities, women can advance and develop further,” said Dian.
In addition to representation aspects, the Telkom Group also ensures a supportive work ecosystem for women’s productivity. The provision of facilities such as Telkom Daycare and lactation rooms is part of the company’s commitment to creating a conducive work environment, allowing women to perform their professional roles optimally as part of the company’s top talent.
Through an integrated approach, the Telkom Group continues to strengthen an equal work culture, including through various women’s talent development initiatives and internal community support. These efforts are believed to bring more diverse perspectives to decision-making while accelerating consistent organisational transformation.
“With a commitment to gender equality principles and empowering women, the Telkom Group is not only building a more resilient organisation but also contributing to creating a more inclusive and sustainable future,” she concluded.
