Telkom CEO Speaks Out on AI: It Is Not Just for Show
PT Telkom Indonesia has reaffirmed its commitment to playing a strategic role in the development of national artificial intelligence (AI). As Indonesia’s largest digital infrastructure operator and an extension of the government’s efforts in developing the digital ecosystem, Telkom aims to be both a driver and a catalyst for AI growth in the country.
Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini stated that the company’s position is highly strategic in supporting technological advancements in Indonesia, including AI. She noted that the company’s role extends beyond merely following the latest technological trends; it is about ensuring that such technology delivers a real impact for various stakeholders.
“Telkom is a driver of digital growth and development in Indonesia. We are a major digital infrastructure operator in Indonesia and serve as an extension of the government,” said Dian during the launch of the AIcosystem, themed ‘Beyond Innovation, Impact for Nation’, at Telkom Landmark, Jakarta, on Thursday (4/6/2026).
“Therefore, our role is very strategic in the development of technology in this country, including AI,” she added.
Dian explained that Telkom’s vision for AI development is to act as an enabler, ensuring that the benefits of AI can be felt by all stakeholders, from the government to the general public. She clarified that Telkom is not entering the AI business solely to demonstrate the company’s ability to adapt to technological progress.
The company’s primary focus is to ensure that the developed AI technology can create added value and real benefits. “So, we are not entering AI just for show, or merely to demonstrate that Telkom can technologically adapt to progress. The main priority is ensuring that the AI being nurtured or formed leaves a lasting benefit and creates value for all stakeholders,” she explained.
Furthermore, Telkom aims to ensure that the economic growth and digital transformation driven by AI can be enjoyed equitably. Consequently, the company is working to present an AI ecosystem capable of supporting the needs of various groups, including the government, the private sector, SMEs, and the wider community.
“The role is to ensure that the benefits can be felt by all stakeholders—government, private sector, SMEs, and the public—so that everyone can enjoy the results of the growth driven by AI,” she concluded.
