Telkom and Singapore's EDB Strengthen Strategic Collaboration to Develop Sustainable Digital Infrastructure

PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Strategic Cooperation on Digital Infrastructure. The signing, which took place in Jakarta on Monday (6/7), was part of a series of collaborations announced during the Indonesia–Singapore Leaders’ Retreat. The MoU was signed by Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini and Singapore EDB Managing Director Jermaine Loy. This business-to-business (B2B) cooperation reflects the close partnership between the two nations in driving sustainable digital economic growth in the region. The signing also supports the implementation of various strategic cooperation initiatives between the two countries, particularly in digital economy development, sustainable infrastructure, and energy transition, which are shared priorities. Managing Director of Danantara Investment Management Stefanus Ade Hadiwidjaja stated that the initiative is a strategic step capable of generating both economic and developmental value. He noted that when digital infrastructure, green energy, and regional cooperation are developed in an integrated manner, the resulting projects become more competitive, sustainable, and attractive for long-term value creation. Managing Director of Business 2 Danantara Asset Management Setyanto Hantoro added that this cooperation demonstrates how national assets and capabilities owned by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) can be orchestrated into a globally competitive business platform. He said the collaboration not only creates new infrastructure but also opens up long-term business growth opportunities. Through this partnership, TelkomGroup and EDB will explore the development of low-carbon digital infrastructure to support a regional technology ecosystem that utilises cross-border low-carbon electricity supplies, thereby accelerating the region’s energy transition. Telkom President Director Dian Siswarini said the collaboration is a strategic move to strengthen Indonesia’s position in the regional digital infrastructure value chain. She expressed confidence that the future of the digital economy requires cross-border collaboration capable of integrating connectivity, digital infrastructure, and clean energy sustainably, and that Telkom is ready to deliver world-class digital infrastructure that provides added value for both countries while supporting regional digital economic growth.
