Telkom accelerates service restoration after earthquake in NTT
EVP of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (Telkom) Regional III Rachmad Dwi Hartanto said the company is taking accelerated steps to repair telecommunications services following the earthquake in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and surrounding areas.
“TelkomGroup continues to take accelerated repair measures by deploying technical teams and the necessary resources so that telecommunications and digital services can return to normal as soon as possible,” he said in an official statement in Jakarta on Sunday.
He explained that the decline in TelkomGroup service quality was mainly caused by power supply disruptions in the affected areas and a number of equipment damages due to the earthquake.
The recovery process currently still depends on the stability of the power supply. However, he continued, TelkomGroup has also activated additional generators with limited capacity to strengthen the electricity supply, maintain the operational stability of network equipment and support the service recovery process.
“TelkomGroup extends its sincerest apologies to all customers and the public for this incident. We also express our highest gratitude and appreciation for the understanding and support given during the recovery process,” said Rachmad.
