Telekom Malaysia cuts rate
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Telekom Malaysia Bhd said in a
statement yesterday it had reduced the cost of international
calls to 35 countries to boost Malaysia's competitiveness as a
business centre.
The new call rates, cheaper by three to 18 percent, were made
possible by the upgrading of Telekom's infrastructure network and
fiscal management practices, which helped reduce costs, Telekom
Chief Executive Mohamed Said Mohamed Ali said.
He said the new rates will enable callers to "enjoy
significant reductions in their phone bills".
The new rates apply to most of Europe, the United States,
Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and several Asian countries,
said Telekom.
