REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, TEHERAN – Several Iranian officials have responded to the statement by US President Trump, who claimed there are divisions within Tehran’s government system. Trump has made this assertion repeatedly. Iran’s judiciary chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, sharply criticised the US president’s remarks. In a post on X, he said Trump should realise that the terms ‘hardline’ and ‘moderate’ are fabricated labels without real basis, commonly used in Western political discourse. “All groups and factions in Iran ultimately maintain their cohesion, unity, and commitment to the directives of the esteemed Supreme Leader,” he affirmed. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and President Masoud Pezeshkian had previously denied any divisions within the government system. In a post on his X account, Ghalibaf wrote, “In Iran, there are no hardliners or moderates. We are all Iranians. With solid unity between the people and the state, and full obedience to the Supreme Leader, we will make aggressors regret their actions.”
