Tehran in Flames as Oil Depots and Refinery Hit by Israeli Air Strikes

Flames and smoke rose from the Aqdasieh fuel depot after reports of an attack in Tehran, Iran, on Saturday, 7 March 2026. The Israeli military, via Telegram, said it had attacked several fuel storage facilities in Tehran. Local news agencies quoted Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum stating that depots hit by the strike were located in three areas. Following the Aqdasieh Oil Depot, the Shahran oil refinery and the Karaj oil depot, located to the west of Tehran, were also targeted by Israel in the strike. The Israel Defense Forces described the operation as a ‘significant strike’ aimed at destroying Iran’s military infrastructure. Meanwhile, Iran’s state media reported that the attack hit a fuel depot in southern Tehran, near the city’s main refinery complex. ILNA news agency reported that Tehran’s refinery did not suffer damage in this strike.
