Tehran Attacked; Iranian Embassy in Jakarta Calls for UN Security Council Action
JAKARTA — The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Indonesia has strongly condemned alleged attacks attributed to the United States and Israel against civilian locations and vital infrastructure in Tehran and several other Iranian cities on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
In its official statement, the Iranian Embassy described the attacks as acts of aggression that violate the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
“The attacks by the United States and the Zionist regime of Israel against the Islamic Republic of Iran constitute a violation of Article 2, paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and represent clear acts of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” stated the Iranian Embassy.
Iran affirmed that it possesses the legitimate right to self-defence as prescribed under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter. The Iranian government stated that its armed forces would exercise this right to maintain the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
According to the embassy, the response to the attacks would be firm and strong as a form of national defence against what it characterised as United States and Israeli aggression.
Furthermore, Iran urged the UN Security Council to take immediate action regarding these alleged violations of international peace and security.
