Tegal Police Distribute Clean Water to Villages Affected by Drought
The Tegal Police, part of the Central Java Regional Police, are continuing to provide clean water assistance to villagers affected by drought. Residents of Dukuhbangsa Village, Jatinegara District, Tegal Regency, received 5,000 litres of clean water delivered by the Jatinegara Police Sector, Tegal Police, together with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) of Jatinegara District. The aid was distributed to meet the clean water needs of 110 families, totalling 336 individuals. For the community, the clean water assistance represents meaningful support for fulfilling daily needs, particularly when water availability is a critical requirement for residents. The distribution of aid was attended by Jatinegara Police Chief IPTU Marsono, along with Dukuhbangsa Village Community Policing Officer Bripka Eko Adi, Head of PMI Jatinegara District Buhctar and members, the Dukuhbangsa Village Secretary, and Dukuhbangsa Village volunteers. The presence of police personnel alongside humanitarian elements and the village government was appreciated by the community. Aid arriving directly in residents’ neighbourhoods was seen as making it easier for the community to obtain clean water. Jatinegara Police Chief IPTU Marsono stated that the police will continue striving to be present when the community needs assistance. ‘We want the community to feel that the National Police is always present among them. When there are residents who need clean water, we, together with relevant elements, try to help so that the community’s basic needs can be met,’ said Marsono on Sunday (9/8). Collaboration between the National Police, PMI, the village government, and volunteers is an important part of the aid distribution process. The presence of these various elements ensures that aid can be received directly by residents in need. For the people of Dukuhbangsa, the assistance is not merely clean water, but also a form of care that provides a sense of being noticed and supported when facing limitations in basic necessities.
