Police also detained four suspects, along with other evidence including 0.90 grams of synthetic tobacco and two psychotropic pills.

The disclosure was announced by Tegal City Police Chief AKBP Heru Antariksa Cahya, accompanied by Narcotics Unit Head AKP Ade Priyatna, during a press conference at Tegal City Police Headquarters on Monday (24/8/2026).

Heru stated that the four detained suspects are Tegal City residents who acted as dealers. He explained that their methods included selling or distributing, possessing, storing, and controlling narcotics such as methamphetamine, synthetic tobacco, and psychotropic drugs.

“The four suspects acted as dealers. Their methods were selling or distributing, possessing, storing, and controlling narcotics such as methamphetamine, synthetic tobacco, and psychotropic drugs,” Heru said.

The first arrest was made against PS (31), a Tegal City resident, on Wednesday (19/8) at around 11.00 WIB in a boarding room in East Tegal District. During a search, police found four packages of methamphetamine weighing approximately 0.93 grams and two alprazolam pills. Further investigation led to another boarding room occupied by PS in the Tunon area, where police found 124 ready-to-sell packages of methamphetamine and one package of synthetic tobacco weighing 0.90 grams. The total methamphetamine seized from PS’s case reached 53.18 grams.

The next disclosure took place on Thursday (20/8). Police first arrested SB (23) and found one package of methamphetamine weighing approximately 0.61 grams. Following further investigation, police arrested AR (34) in a boarding room in the Randugunting area, South Tegal District. From AR, officers seized two packages of methamphetamine with a total weight of 70.62 grams. Police also found around 1,000 plastic pellets suspected to be used for narcotics transactions by burying them in the ground.

At around 22.45 WIB, police continued their investigation in the same area and detained AC (25) in another boarding room. From AC, officers found six ready-to-sell packages of methamphetamine weighing 4.12 grams, along with equipment suspected to be related to narcotics distribution activities.

According to Heru, investigators are still examining all the cases, including tracing the origin of the goods and the possible involvement of other networks. “All suspects are still undergoing investigation by the Tegal City Police Narcotics Unit,” Heru explained.

The four suspects are now undergoing further legal proceedings. Police are continuing to develop the case to uncover the possibility of other perpetrators.
