Teenagers arrested for harassment

BOGOR (JP): Police arrested six of nine teenagers suspected of forcing three male junior high school students to remove their clothes and sexually harassing a female junior high school student aboard a public bus on Tuesday evening.

Bogor Police deputy chief Maj. Weri Sujatmiko said the suspects, who were arrested near where the incident took place in Warung Jambu, were mostly senior high school students.

"The six teenagers are still being detained here for their alleged crimes," Sujatmiko said on Wednesday.

He said officers also seized a machete and steel chain from the suspects.

Sujatmiko said the six teenagers in custody and their three friends who are still at large, threatened the victims with the machete and chain after boarding the bus.

Some of the suspects allegedly ordered the male victims to remove their clothes and took their money and watches, while other suspects kissed and touched the female student, Sujatmiko said.

The female student shouted for help after the suspects exited the bus, he said.

"The teenagers are believed to have taken barbiturates," he said. (21/jun)
