Teenager Killed in Machete Attack During Brawl in Cilincing

Jakarta (ANTARA) - A young man with the initials RM (19) was reported killed in a clash between groups on Jalan Kalibaru Timur, Kalibaru Village, Cilincing Subdistrict, North Jakarta, in the early hours of Monday at around 04.00 WIB.

“During the fight, the victim RM suffered slash wounds and his right hand was severed. He was then taken by his friends to Cilincing Regional General Hospital for first aid,” said Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri in Jakarta on Monday.

He said that after receiving medical treatment from the doctor on duty, the victim was pronounced dead.

In addition, one other person was injured during the fight.

“One other person, AMS (19), suffered injuries to his head and lower back,” he said.

According to the testimony of a friend of the victim, they had initially been invited by the Gang Barong youths to drink alcohol.

After drinking, the victim and his friends then launched an attack on the Kampung Bedeng group from RW 013 in Kalibaru Village.

Outnumbered, the Gang Barong youths and the victim retreated and attempted to flee.

At that moment, the victim fell, and he was then slashed by the opposing group, namely the Kampung Bedeng group.

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police Station is currently carrying out identification of the perpetrators of the brawl.

“Meanwhile, the victim’s body has been referred to the National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati for a post-mortem examination,” he said.
