Teenager Killed in Machete Attack During Brawl in Cilincing
A young man with the initials RM (19) was reported dead following a brawl between groups on Jalan Kalibaru Timur, Kalibaru Village, Cilincing District, North Jakarta, in the early hours of Monday at 4.00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time. Cilincing Police Chief AKP Bobi Subasri stated that during the brawl, the victim RM suffered a machete wound that severed his right hand. He was taken by his friends to the Cilincing Regional General Hospital for first aid. After receiving medical treatment from the doctor on duty, the victim was pronounced dead. Another individual, AMS (19), also sustained injuries to his head and left back during the incident. According to a friend of the victim, they were initially invited by youths from Gang Barong to drink alcohol. After drinking, the victim and his friends launched an attack on a group from Kampung Bedeng, RW 013, Kalibaru Village. Outnumbered, the Gang Barong group and the victim attempted to retreat and flee. However, the victim fell during the escape and was set upon and hacked by the opposing group from Kampung Bedeng. The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Cilincing Police is currently working to identify the perpetrators of the brawl. The victim’s body has been referred to the Indonesian National Police Hospital in Kramat Jati for a post-mortem examination.
