Teenager in Sukabumi Dies Allegedly After Stepmother's Abuse, Body Found Blistered
A 12-year-old boy in Sukabumi, West Java, has died after allegedly being abused by his stepmother. The victim, identified by the initials NS, was found dead with blistered skin and bruising across his body.
The incident came to light when the boy’s biological father, Anwar Satibi (38), was contacted by his wife whilst he was working as a dental technician in Sukabumi City, and was asked to return home.
“I received a call saying, ‘Come home, Raja is unwell, he’s delirious and has a fever.’ That’s what my wife told me,” Anwar said on Saturday (21/2/2026).
Upon arriving home, Anwar was shocked to find his son’s condition. NS’s skin had already blistered in several areas and there were multiple bruises visible on his body.
“When I got home I was shocked — my child’s skin was already blistered all over. I asked what happened. She replied, ‘He has a fever, that’s why there are blisters,’” he recounted.
Initially, Anwar believed the injuries were caused by an ordinary fever. He even intended to purchase ointment. Later that afternoon, NS was taken to hospital. During this process, a relative arrived and questioned the boy.
“When asked, he admitted that he had been made to drink boiling water by his stepmother. That’s why in the video I lost control,” Anwar said.
Anwar declined to speculate on the cause of his son’s death. He requested an autopsy to confirm whether the victim had indeed been abused by his stepmother.
When contacted for confirmation, Sukabumi Police Criminal Investigation Unit Chief AKP Hartono verified the incident. He stated that a medical team was conducting an autopsy to establish the precise cause of death.
“This morning we are proceeding with an autopsy in connection with the alleged domestic violence. We are still awaiting the autopsy results,” Hartono explained on Friday morning (20/2).
