Teenager in East Jakarta Slashed with a Machete After Shouting 'Oi'

JAKARTA – An 18-year-old teenage victim with initials FK was slashed with a celurit (machete) in Pekayon, Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, on Tuesday (19 May 2026) at around 04:30 WIB. Pasar Rebo Police Sector chief AKP I Wayan Wijaya explained that the stabbing began when two suspects, NE (18) and DS (18), rode past the victim on a motorcycle. ‘From the victim, the two suspects were shouted at with harsh words such as “Woi” and were invited to fight,’ Wijaya said at Mapolsek Pasar Rebo on Friday (22 May 2026). ‘Then they returned to the scene and immediately swung a celurit at the victim, hitting him on the head, precisely on the right part of the forehead, with the machete still embedded. The perpetrators then fled,’ he added. Wijaya noted that the Pasar Rebo Police Sector received a report from RSUD Pasar Rebo regarding a assault victim. ‘The Pasar Rebo Police Sector conducted investigations, and more than 24 hours later we managed to secure the suspects: NE, 18, address Areman, Depok, West Java. The second suspect is DS,’ Wijaya said. According to Wijaya, the victim was not in a critical condition and is still undergoing treatment after the stabbing last Tuesday. For his actions, the two suspects are charged under Article 466 or Article 466 in conjunction with Article 20 of the Indonesian KUHP (Law No. 1 of 2023) with a maximum penalty of five years’ imprisonment.
