Teenager Found Dead in Malang, Allegedly Killed by Boyfriend
A 17-year-old girl, identified as HMZ, was found dead with her hands tied and mouth gagged, allegedly killed by her boyfriend. The 22-year-old man, identified as YDF, from Malang Regency, reportedly had an argument with the victim before the murder.
Police stated that the victim and the perpetrator met through a friend in Kertosono, Nganjuk Regency, in December 2025.
“The perpetrator met the victim through a friend in December 2025, so about three months ago,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Malang Police, AKP Hafiz Prasetia Akbar, in a press conference at the Malang Police Headquarters, Tuesday (24/2), as quoted from detikJatim.
The two then travelled by motorbike from Nganjuk Regency to Kediri. They then stopped in Batu City.
“When they arrived in Malang Regency, the victim’s motorbike broke down. So the victim stayed at one of her family’s houses in Malang City,” explained Hafiz.
The victim stayed at her family’s house in the Kedungkandang area, Malang City, on Thursday (12/2). The next day, the victim visited the perpetrator’s house in Jabung, Malang Regency.
“And on February 13, specifically on Friday, the victim and the suspect rode a motorbike around the suspect’s house, which is in Jabung District,” he said.
It was then that the crime was committed by the perpetrator against the victim.
“Then there was an argument and the suspect strangled the victim,” he explained.
Condition of the Victim When Found
For information, the victim’s body was found by local residents who were collecting firewood in the Jilu/Kedung Winong River, Tuesday (17/2) morning. The victim was found naked with signs of violence on her body.
“When found, the victim’s hands were tied and there was a piece of cloth in her mouth. The victim was also found naked,” said AKP Hafiz.
The perpetrator, YD, was arrested in a boarding house where he was hiding in Malang. He is currently undergoing intensive questioning to be held accountable for his actions.
