Teenage Boy Sexually Abused by Quran Teacher in Kendari Mosque Toilet

A 15-year-old boy in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi, was sexually abused by his Quran teacher. The abuse took place inside a mosque toilet. “It is true, the suspected perpetrator has been secured at a mosque,” said Kendari Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head Kompol Welliwanto Malau on Sunday (26/7/2026). The perpetrator abused the victim in a mosque toilet in Poasia District in July 2026. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the perpetrator had committed the act three times. “The perpetrator’s actions were carried out three times in July 2026,” Welliwanto stated. In carrying out his depraved acts, the perpetrator first offered money to the victim. The offer was made so that the victim would comply with the perpetrator’s wishes. “The perpetrator enticed the victim with the promise of money so that the victim would comply with his wishes,” he said.
