Teddy Receives Input from Chairul Tanjung on Strategic Economic Issues

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has received input from businessman Chairul Tanjung regarding a number of strategic economic issues. The issues ranged from strengthening the banking sector and developing entrepreneurship and young talent, to the role of the business community in driving sustainable economic growth. According to a post on the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account, the meeting between Teddy and the founder and leader of CT Corp at the Cabinet Secretariat building in Jakarta on Wednesday morning lasted nearly two hours. Teddy stated that Chairul, as a senior figure in business, media, economics, and government, shared various views and input that could be considered by the government in formulating policy. “Strong economic growth requires a close partnership between the government and the business community. Therefore, input from business actors is an important part of formulating policies that are not only on target but also provide tangible benefits to the public,” Teddy said when confirmed by ANTARA. According to Teddy, the government and the business community are moving together to deliver real benefits to society. On that occasion, he also expressed appreciation for the Hoegeng Awards organised by CT Corp. “I also conveyed my appreciation for the Hoegeng Awards, an initiative presented by CT Corp to honour individuals with integrity, dedication, and who uphold anti-corruption values,” he said. Based on a video shared by the Cabinet Secretariat’s Instagram account, Teddy was seen personally welcoming Chairul Tanjung in the lobby of the Cabinet Secretariat building. After Chairul stepped out of his vehicle, the two shook hands before Teddy invited the businessman, nicknamed ‘Si Anak Singkong’, into the building. While walking to the meeting room, Teddy and Chairul appeared to chat in a warm atmosphere. Chairul was also seen putting his arm around Teddy. Teddy also showed Chairul around several corners of the room. In one part of the building, Chairul paused briefly to observe a corner displaying a number of photographs, before the two resumed their conversation. In the meeting room, Teddy and Chairul held discussions while sitting opposite each other at a long table. The atmosphere of the talks was cordial. During the meeting, the two also had lunch together. Teddy was seen serving rice for Chairul before they continued their discussions. After the meeting, Teddy escorted Chairul back to the lobby of the Cabinet Secretariat building. The two shook hands again, before Teddy saw Chairul off as his vehicle left the Cabinet Secretariat complex.
