Teddy: Prabowo Swims in the Morning Before Heading to DPRD Retreat
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya recounted President Prabowo Subianto’s activities on Saturday morning, 18 April 2026. According to Teddy, Prabowo started the day with exercise before travelling to Magelang, Central Java, to attend the retreat for DPRD chairpersons across Indonesia.
Teddy stated that Prabowo woke up before dawn to swim. “Starting this Saturday at exactly 05:00 dawn, President Prabowo carried out his morning routine of swimming,” Teddy said in a written statement.
Teddy mentioned that Prabowo swam for about one hour. He conducted the exercise in his private pool located in Hambalang, West Java.
After swimming, Teddy said, Prabowo prepared to head to the airport. “Subsequently, he will take off at 08:00 in the morning to Magelang to provide guidance to DPRD chairpersons throughout Indonesia,” he added.
Teddy concluded his account with a remark. “Mens sana in corpore sano. In a healthy body there is a strong soul. Have you exercised this morning?” he said.
Prabowo’s morning swim was also reported by the Presidential Secretariat. Through a written statement, the Presidential Secretariat said the activity is part of the Head of State’s personal discipline in maintaining physical fitness amid a packed national agenda.
“That routine reflects the President’s consistency in maintaining stamina and health as the main support for carrying out government duties,” as stated in the Presidential Secretariat’s press release on Saturday, 18 April 2026.
Prabowo is scheduled to give directions to hundreds of DPRD chairpersons at the retreat event at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java, on this Saturday. The National Resilience Institute (Lemhanas) is holding the retreat for hundreds of DPRD chairpersons from 15 to 19 April 2026.
Retreats are frequently conducted during the Prabowo Subianto administration. Previously, retreats were also mandatory for ministers of the Merah Putih Cabinet and regional heads.
This retreat agenda invites 557 DPRD Chairpersons across Indonesia. The details include 38 Provincial DPRD Chairpersons, 93 City DPRD Chairpersons, and 415 Regency DPRD Chairpersons.
Eleven officials from the Association of Regency DPRD Chairpersons throughout Indonesia are also participating in this retreat. However, only 479 out of the total 557 DPRD Chairpersons are recorded as attending the retreat.
Lemhanas Governor Ace Hasan Syadzily said the purpose of holding the retreat for all DPRD Chairpersons is to increase the institution’s capacity in facing national and regional development challenges. “Participants are encouraged to become strategic partners of local governments and agents of change,” said Ace on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
