Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has criticised the phenomenon he calls “analyst inflation,” namely the proliferation of parties providing analyses in various fields without supporting backgrounds and data aligned with the facts.

“Nowadays, there is one phenomenon. What is it? There is something called analyst inflation. So, there are so many analysts. There are rice analysts, but their background is not in that area. There are military analysts, foreign analysts, and those analysts’ data does not match the facts, their data is wrong,” said Teddy at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Friday.

According to Teddy, there are several analysts who convey incorrect data and do not match the actual conditions. This phenomenon, he said, has been occurring since before Prabowo Subianto assumed the position of President, with the aim of influencing public opinion.

“From the majority, those analysts are analysts who have long tried to influence citizens, shape public opinion. Even before Mr Prabowo became president,” he said.

Based on the official determination of the General Elections Commission (KPU), the number of voters for the Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair in the 2024 Election was 96,214,691 people.

“In fact, more than 96 million citizens trust Mr Prabowo more. They do not trust them. Well, that is real evidence of public trust. Not some assumption,” he stated.

Furthermore, Teddy emphasised that differing views and criticism are still allowed, but he reminded everyone not to cause anxiety in society.

The Cabinet Secretary stated that the current national condition is stable and under control. Therefore, he invited all parties to maintain good hopes for the country’s condition.

“Of course, it is not yet perfect. We accept criticism, accept input. Well, as quickly as possible we perfect it, we maximise it, as soon as possible,” he concluded.
