Tecno Watch GT 1S Announced, Brings Dual-Band GPS and 15-Day Battery Life

Tech company Tecno has introduced a new smartwatch, the Watch GT 1S, at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, alongside the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra smartphone and the Megapad 2 tablet. The device is positioned as Tecno’s flagship smartwatch, emphasising more accurate activity tracking and comprehensive health monitoring. The Watch GT 1S is the successor to the Watch GT released late last year.

In appearance, the Watch GT 1S retains the same body as its predecessor, so it is likely to feature a circular 1.51-inch AMOLED display with a 60 Hz refresh rate. One of the main features is support for dual-band GPS with L1 and L5 connections. The device can also upgrade its water resistance rating to 5ATM (up from 3ATM), making it safe to use while diving to depths of up to 50 metres, swimming, or engaging in activities in wet conditions.

Tecno has also packed sensors to monitor the user’s health, including heart-rate measurement, blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), stress level, and sleep quality. For day-to-day use, Tecno claims the Watch GT 1S can last up to 15 days on a single charge. The company also includes an AI watch face feature that lets users create watch faces automatically using generative technology.

In addition, the Watch GT 1S supports the OneLeap connectivity feature, enabling the watch to connect with various other Tecno devices such as smartphones, tablets, and PCs more easily. Through OneLeap, users can share data and connect devices within a single Tecno ecosystem.

Tecno has not disclosed further specifications such as screen size, chipset, or price. The smartwatch is reportedly expected to be available in several global markets from the first to the second quarter of 2026, according to KompasTekno’s aggregation of GSMArena.
