Tecno Megapad 2 Debuts at MWC 2026, a Large-Display Tablet with a Slim Body
KOMPAS.com - Chinese gadget vendor Tecno Mobile has unveiled a new tablet named Megapad 2 on Monday (2 March 2026). The tablet was released alongside the Tecno Camon 50 Ultra smartphone, the Tecno Watch GT 1S smartwatch, and the open-ear FreeHear 2 earbuds at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 in Barcelona, Spain, with the Megapad 2 positioned as a mid-range tablet designed for multimedia consumption and learning.
Its main draw lies in its large display. The tablet is equipped with an 11-inch panel with a 2.5K resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate. This enables crisp visuals and a reasonably smooth scrolling experience.
In addition to the display, the design is also quite slim. Tecno has fitted a body with a thickness of around 6.6 mm, making the tablet relatively thin and easy to carry.
Tecno also highlights a range of AI-based features integrated into the HiOS operating system. One of these is AI Problem Solving, designed to assist independent learning while enabling parents to guide their children when tackling questions.
There is also the AI Translation feature supporting translations of up to 140 languages. This feature can be used across a range of scenarios, from translating text in images to call conversations, video, and online meetings.
Additionally, the tablet includes AI Document Summary, which can automatically summarise documents, along with writing aids to improve text.
Megapad 2 also supports a connectivity feature called OneLeap. This feature enables the tablet to connect with other Tecno devices such as smartphones, PCs, or other smart devices.
Through OneLeap, users can easily share files and use the tablet as an additional screen for a PC.
However, from the product image, the tablet appears to have a single rear camera and will be offered in an orange colour reminiscent of the iPhone 17 Pro series. The company, under Transsion Holdings, has not yet announced the official price for the Tecno Megapad 2.
According to GSMArena, as compiled by KompasTekno, the Megapad 2 will be available in several global markets from Q1 through Q2 2026.
