Technology Utilisation Can Support a Secure and Transparent Port Ecosystem
Surabaya, VIVA – PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PSL) and PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS), as part of the Pelindo Group entities, are strengthening their synergy to support enhanced security, transparency, and integrity within the port ecosystem through the provision and operation of container scanner services at the Surabaya Container Terminal.
The utilisation of this container scanning technology is designed to realise a more modern, integrated, and efficient customs inspection process, while simultaneously maintaining the security and smoothness of national logistics flows.
Through the signing of this cooperation agreement, PT PSL is providing two container scanner units along with their supporting systems, which will be stationed at the Surabaya Container Terminal for both import and export lanes.
In addition to the physical provision of the equipment, this collaboration also encompasses information technology integration, equipment maintenance, and the provision of support personnel to ensure operational reliability and service security.
The presence of these facilities directly supports the execution of container inspections by the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and strengthens the supervision of both import and export goods flows within the port area.
The President Director of PT Pelindo Sinerlag Lokaseva, Faruq Hidayat, stated that the implementation of this container scanning technology is a tangible manifestation of synergy between Pelindo Group entities to strengthen the quality of port services, transparency, and the accountability of the inspection process.
“Through our cooperation with TPS, we strive to provide scanning technology support that is integrated with good systems and governance. The application of this technology aligns with the direction of Pelindo’s transformation under the guidance of Danatara in strengthening digitalisation, modernisation of facilities, safety, and service quality. For us, the development of supporting port facilities is not only oriented towards operational aspects, but also towards how to provide services that are increasingly transparent, accountable, and provide added value for stakeholders,” Faruq said in a written statement on Monday, 28 September 2026.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya, Ali Sodikin, stated that the presence of the container scanner facility is a form of TPS’s support for the execution of state duties in the field of customs supervision, while ensuring that logistics flows remain smooth, secure, and efficient.
“The presence of these two container scanner units is a manifestation of our commitment to providing facilities that support more effective, accurate, and transparent supervision, without compromising the smoothness of the logistics process at the port. Through synergy with PSL, we hope this service can increase supply chain security, strengthen the trust of service users, and support the realisation of a modern, high-integrity, and globally competitive port ecosystem,” Ali emphasised.
The provision of these two container scanning units at TPS adds to the range of modern port support facilities operated by PSL in various strategic ports, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, and Medan.
