The growth of the digital-based creative industry in Indonesia continues to open new economic space for the younger generation. Not only does it present opportunities for technology developers, this sector also gives birth to various creative business models that connect communities, content creators, and digital economic actors in one mutually supportive ecosystem. This development is visible from the increasing economic activity born from the gaming and e-sports industry. Various supporting services, ranging from community management, creative services, digital transactions, to content production, are now an important part of the growth of the national creative industry and create new jobs for young talent. Amidst this trend, a number of local business players have shown that creativity and understanding of community needs can develop into high-value businesses. By utilising technology and a community-based approach, they are able to build a digital ecosystem that not only generates economic profit, but also becomes a platform for developing creative talent. One success story comes from Valforum, a local start-up that dominates the market for fulfilling Valorant game needs in Indonesia. Starting from a small-scale business in 2021, this platform developed into an ecosystem centre for players and digital content creators by providing account transaction services, rentals, game assistants, and top-ups. Entering a major expansion phase in 2024, the company’s operations are supported by a technology-based governance system with 20 professional staff. Its continuously growing performance has enabled the company to record a monthly turnover of billions of rupiah. This achievement was pioneered by William Surya Dwiputra, a young man from Palembang who saw great opportunities in the digital entertainment sector. Interestingly, the business journey was built without the support of large investments and an extensive industry network. "Building a digital service provider at a very young age certainly presents its own dynamics and challenges. In the early days of operation, we had to go through a crucial phase in managing transaction flows, building consumer trust standards, and reorganising administrative systems that were once in disarray," said Valforum Founder William Surya Dwiputra on Monday (22/6/2026). Consistency in improving service quality led William to achieve significant financial milestones from a young age. Now, in addition to leading a growing company, he also holds certification from the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) in digital marketing. Not solely focused on service business, Valforum is now expanding its role as a production house and a platform for developing digital creators in the e-sports sector. The company actively nurtures streamers and content creators so they can build sustainable careers in the digital creative industry. To date, 25 game streamers have joined and are developing their careers under the company’s umbrella. Valforum has also successfully mentored five faceless creators from the initial stage until they are able to manage their content channels independently. "The grassroots approach we take reinforces Valforum’s mission not to merely pursue corporate profitability metrics. We are fully committed to paving the way, creating opportunities, and providing a stage so that local creators can achieve success together in the digital industry," William added. Looking ahead, he said, the company is targeting the development of a healthier and more inclusive Valorant community ecosystem in Indonesia. This plan will be realised through the organisation of large-scale community events and regular appreciation programmes aimed at players and creators at the grassroots level.
