Technology Collaboration Strengthens Digital Security and AI in ASEAN
Technology collaboration between Indonesia and strategic partners in the ASEAN region continues to be strengthened to address the gap between the rapid growth of the digital economy and the readiness of digital security infrastructure.
TOTM Technologies Limited (SGX: 42F), a company focused on cutting-edge technology in Southeast Asia covering AI, blockchain, and identity, and KORIKA, Indonesia’s national AI collaboration platform, are specifically responding to this gap.
TOTM announced the launch of a strategic partnership with the Artificial Intelligence Industry Research and Innovation Collaboration (KORIKA). This collaboration promotes the adoption of secure, responsible, and trusted latest technologies in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
KORIKA was established under the auspices of the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (Stranas KA) by bringing together government institutions, academia, industry, and communities in the field of AI innovation and digital transformation without neglecting security elements.
TOTM Technologies builds digital infrastructure that connects artificial intelligence (AI), quantum-safe technology, and digital identity, thereby expanding the scope of national identity programmes and cross-border trust infrastructure in the regional area.
This collaboration formalises the shared interest and expectation between both parties in promoting cross-border cutting-edge technology collaboration, which will ultimately connect Indonesia’s growing digital economy to the ASEAN region.
The collaboration covers three areas.
First, in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), this collaboration will uphold the development of safe, responsible, and inclusive AI, in line with KORIKA’s national mandate and TOTM’s focus on AI governance.
Second, in terms of infrastructure, both parties will design a quantum-secure and identity-based blockchain system intended to anticipate future threats in the field of quantum computing.
Third, in the field of trade, this collaboration will open up the exchange of secure and interoperable digital credentials and data across national borders, still within the applicable technical and regulatory frameworks.
Welcoming this collaboration, Chan Wei Jie, Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of TOTM Technologies, said that the partnership with KORIKA reflects the perspective that cross-border collaboration is essential to building a more connected and trusted digital economy in ASEAN countries.
“We see this collaboration as a point towards a more integrated Southeast Asia, focused on the application of technology and shared capabilities to achieve measurable results,” he said in an official statement.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Hammam Riza, Chairman of KORIKA, expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with TOTM Technologies, particularly in bringing a cross-border dimension that supports the goals of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA).
“We believe this collaboration can deliver concrete impact and contribute to the KORIKA Impact programme, as well as the AI Security pillar,” he said.
This collaboration is also believed to strengthen TOTM’s presence in Southeast Asia, building on the existing partnership with PILA Group in Vietnam in cross-border digital trust infrastructure, and continuing the company’s innovation to drive validated digital trade and security in ASEAN.
