The East Jakarta City Government considers the utilisation of digital technology to be one of the main factors driving the acceleration of growth for creative business actors and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). “The development of the creative economy is currently quite positive. Technology helps speed up information and provides many conveniences for business actors,” said Head of the East Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department, Yayang Kustiawan, in Jakarta on Wednesday. According to him, the development of the MSME sector and the creative economy in East Jakarta is showing an increasingly positive trend. “The ease of access to information, digital marketing, and the expansion of business networks are advantages now felt by MSME actors,” Yayang said. He mentioned that the creative economy sector has now become one of the drivers of the community’s economy. Business actors are also finding it easier to introduce their products to a wider market through various digital platforms. In addition to technological support, collaboration with communities and various parties is also an important factor in developing the creative economy. Yayang said communities have a strategic role in expanding business networks as well as serving as a forum for sharing knowledge and experiences among business actors. “The government cannot work alone. Communities and technology have a significant role because they provide access and convenience for creative economy actors to develop,” Yayang stated. For this reason, he hopes that with technological support, ongoing coaching, and collaboration from various parties, the East Jakarta creative economy sector will contribute more to regional economic growth and improving community welfare. Meanwhile, the East Jakarta City Government, through the Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department, continues to make efforts to coach creative business actors. To date, a total of 2,574 creative business actors have received coaching from the East Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-department.
