TECHNOGERMA JAKARTA '99 shows German faith in RI

In 1979, the German business community held a trade fair in
Indonesia, called INDOGERMA. Since then, many forms of
collaboration have emerged between Indonesian companies and
industrial associations and their German counterparts,
encouraging the growth of trade relations between the two
countries.

It is in light of these excellent relations that TECHNOGERMA,
the largest exhibition of German technology held abroad every
four years, is set for Jakarta in 1999.

The event will seek to contribute toward fostering economic
stabilization and technological and economic development of
Indonesia; strengthening and expanding its economic relations
with the Federal Republic of Germany.

TECHNOGERMA JAKARTA '99 -- from March 1 to March 7 at the
Jakarta Convention Center -- is organized by the German Federal
Ministry of Economics, which is financially sponsoring the event,
as well as the Exhibition and Trade Fair Committee of the German
Trade and Industrial Association, with the support of the German-
Indonesian Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Jakarta.

The Federal Ministry for Education and Research will also be
represented, along with the Press and Information Office of the
Federal Government, the German Finance Company for Investments in
Developing Countries, GTZ/Protrade and the German Mechanical
Engineering Association. TECHNOGERMA '99 will be rounded off with
Engineers in Dialog, a special show on environmental technology
and a presentation on studying in Germany.

More than 180 exhibitors are registered for the approximately
67,800 square feet of exhibition space; 75 of the exhibitors
consist of companies with stands of their own.
