TechnoArt 2026 Disseminates 39 Research Papers on Design, Technology, and AI
The Faculty of Technology and Design (FTD) at Bunda Mulia University (UBM) organised TechnoArt 2026 as a dissemination forum for research results, bringing together the fields of design, technology, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Carrying the theme ‘Empowering Research Collaboration at the Intersection of Design, Technology, and Artificial Intelligence’, the event provided a platform for UBM lecturers to present their research findings and engage in discussions with academics from various study programmes and universities.
The peak of the dissemination activity was held in a hybrid format, featuring three keynote speakers: UBM professor Johanes F. Andry, Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) professor Yasraf Amir Piliang, and National Chung Cheng University (Taiwan) professor Pao-Ann Hsiung. The session was moderated by Adhiguna Mahendra.
A total of 39 research papers were presented during the forum. Discussions covered developments in design, technology, the utilisation of AI, and opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
The Dean of FTD UBM, Indah Tjahjawulan, stated that TechnoArt 2026 was designed to bring together various academic perspectives in response to the advancements in technology and AI.
“TechnoArt 2026 serves as a space for us to unite different perspectives in viewing the development of design, technology, and artificial intelligence more collaboratively. For FTD UBM, research is not just about generating new knowledge, but also about how that knowledge can unlock innovation opportunities and provide an impact on education, the creative industry, and society,” Indah said in her statement.
According to her, FTD U_BM continues to encourage an academic culture that is open to interdisciplinary collaboration. The academic community is also encouraged to adapt to technological developments through research and academic activities involving lecturers, students, and partners from various institutions.
In addition to research dissemination, TechnoArt 2026 was held alongside the Designature 2026 exhibition. This exhibition showcased 60 of the best final project works from UBM’s Visual Communication Design (DKV) students for the 2025/2026 academic period.
The Designature 2026 exhibition was held alternately at the UBM Ancol Campus and the UBM Serpong Campus. The event served as a medium for students to present their work to the academic community, industry partners, and the public.
The series of activities also included a screening session of five short films created by UBM DKV students at FLIX, PIK Avenue. The screening provided an opportunity for students to introduce their audiovisual works to the public.
FTD UBM noted that the TechnoArt and Designature 2026 series is part of an effort to integrate lecturer research with student work within a single academic ecosystem. This collaboration is directed towards supporting the development of innovation that keeps pace with advancements in technology, the creative industry, and AI.
