Tebet Transjakarta Shelter Damaged After Truck Collision, Driver Flees

An accident on Transjakarta Corridor 9 has caused damage to the Tebet Eco Park shelter in South Jakarta. The incident occurred on Thursday (25/6/2026) at around 2:50 AM WIB.

According to the Traffic Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate (Kasubdit Gakkum) of the Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ojo Ruslani, an officer named Panji was on duty at the ticket counter when the incident happened. The truck was passing through the shelter area because arterial roads were being diverted due to ongoing asphalt roadworks.

“The truck’s load got caught on the canopy,” Ojo Ruslani stated. When the Transjakarta officer went outside to check the condition, the truck immediately accelerated and fled the scene.

Police are currently investigating the incident and are working to identify the vehicle. “We are currently checking the CCTV footage,” Ojo added. Authorities suspect the driver fled and are gathering evidence to track down the vehicle and the driver.

The collision caused the ceiling panel above door C to collapse. Other damage includes broken automatic doors, shattered glass, and a malfunctioning gate. Observations at the location on Jalan MT Haryono showed officers working to repair the damage, installing coverings, and clearing debris.
