PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has confirmed that the Tebet Eco Park bus stop, heading towards Pluit, remains operational for passengers to board and alight despite suffering damage after being struck by a truck in the early hours of Thursday. “The Tebet Eco Park bus stop heading to Pluit is still able to serve customers, and Transjakarta services passing through the stop are operating normally while prioritising safety and passenger comfort,” said Ayu Wardhani, Head of the Public Relations and CSR Department of Transjakarta, in Jakarta on Thursday. Ayu stated that the bus stop is currently undergoing repairs. Transjakarta services at the Tebet Eco Park bus stop heading to Pluit can be accessed via doors A and B. She also apologised for any inconvenience experienced by passengers at the Tebet Eco Park bus stop due to the incident.

Previously, the Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police were pursuing the driver of the truck that struck the Transjakarta bus stop facility in Tebet Eco Park, heading towards Pluit, South Jakarta, in the early hours of Thursday. AKBP Ojo Ruslani, Head of the Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Traffic Directorate, confirmed the incident in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday and stated that the police are conducting an investigation to track down the truck driver. “We have received information regarding the accident. Currently, personnel in the field are conducting an investigation, gathering evidence, including CCTV footage from around the location to identify the vehicle and pursue the truck driver who fled,” he said.

According to reports, the incident occurred at 2.55 a.m. Western Indonesia Time while a traffic diversion was in effect on the route. “The regular lane was temporarily closed due to road resurfacing work, so all large vehicles were directed to enter the Transjakarta lane,” he said. An officer on duty reported hearing a loud crash around 2.50 a.m. while filling in a logbook inside the ticket booth. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the upper part or high-loaded bed of the truck had snagged and struck the canopy and roof of the bus stop. The truck was seen immediately accelerating away from the scene. “As a result of the violent collision, the Tebet Eco Park bus stop suffered significant damage. The damage data includes a collapsed ceiling above door C, door C’s automatic mechanism detached, shattered glass panels, and a completely non-functional electronic gate system,” Ojo explained.
