Tears of Former Subordinate Upon Learning Noel Was Caught in KPK Sting: Devastated, How Could Father Be Arrested?
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Former protocol officer for the ex-Deputy Minister of Manpower (Wamenaker) Immanuel Ebenezer alias Noel, Syamazzka Zakirni, admitted to being shocked when Noel was arrested by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in a sting operation (OTT).
Azka conveyed this when presented as a mitigating witness in the continuation of the trial for the alleged corruption case of extortion in the management of K3 certificates.
“I was really shocked, how could Father be arrested in an OTT like that,” said Azka while sobbing at the trial in the Jakarta Corruption Court, Wednesday (29/4/2026).
Azka, who is heavily pregnant, cried uncontrollably when recalling the moment Noel was arrested by the KPK.
“Father was strict with us in forbidding things like that,” said Azka.
With a trembling voice, Azka admitted to being devastated seeing Noel wearing the orange vest from the KPK.
“I was very shocked and I was really devastated by that. How could it happen that Father was arrested in that case,” said Azka.
Noel was caught in the OTT on the night of 20 August 2025.
Meanwhile, Azka only learned of Noel’s arrest the next morning.
Before knowing Noel’s status, Azka had even prepared the schedule that Noel would follow before receiving confirmation from the aide.
This was stated by the prosecutor in the opening prosecution of the corruption case of extortion in the management of K3 certificates at the Central Jakarta District Court, Monday (19/1/2026).
“That the Defendant Immanuel Ebenezer Gerungan together with Fahrurozi, Hery Sutanto, Subhan, Gerry Aditya Herwanto Putra, Irvian Bobby Mahendro, Sekarsari Kartika Putri, Anitasari Kusumawati, Supriadi, Miki Mahfud, and Temurila have forced the K3 Certification and License Applicants to give money in the total amount of Rp6,522,360,000 or at least around that amount,” said the prosecutor.
The prosecutor explained that this extortion had been ongoing since 2021.
