Teachers start practicing KKN
Teachers start practicing KKN
From Bisnis Indonesia
Only a few months back our hearts sank when we heard about the
unfortunate fate and condition of teachers at state schools who
have to live a hard life on their meager salaries. However, now
we feel annoyed to see how some elementary and high school
principals and teachers behave when they charge us a large sum of
money for admission fees.
It is hard to believe that a state elementary school in this
capital city of Jakarta charges parents a Rp 1 million admission
fee for each student while some other schools charge even more.
It is also unimaginable to hear that a senior high school in
Jakarta charges Rp 4 million for each new student.
Based on these facts, we suggest that the minister of culture
and education and other related authorities take strong action
against corrupt teachers and school principals if they are proven
to have committed corruption, collusion and nepotism (KKN).
It is really ironic, on the one hand we take pity on some
teachers, but on the other hand we feel indignant with those who
charge us exorbitant admission fees.
