Teachers' congress
Teachers' congress
The Indonesian Teachers Union (PGRI) is holding its 17th
congress in Jakarta, involving some 11,000 teachers from all over
the country. Their presence here reminds us of our days when our
teachers patiently and wholeheartedly taught and educated us to
become what we are today. So it is our obligation to pay deep
respect to them.
Recognizing the important role played by the teachers in
making us mature, we must take good care of their needs and pay
due attention to their welfare.
In relation to their profession, their knowledge should be
continuously upgraded to keep pace with development. The
knowledge possessed by the teachers may have become obsolete so
as to need upgrading.
