Teacher Nurlela Dies in Bekasi Train Accident, DKI Provincial Government Expresses Deepest Condolences

JAKARTA - Nurlela, a teacher at SDN Pulo Gebang 11 in East Jakarta, became a fatality in the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train and an electric rail train (KRL) at Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City on Monday night (27/4/2026).

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Education Office, expressed deep condolences over Nurlela’s passing.

Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Office, Nahdiana, described the deceased as a highly dedicated educator.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government assured full support to the victim’s family.

The assistance includes handling funeral arrangements, administration, and psychosocial support for the bereaved family.

“May the deceased be accepted by the Almighty God and may the family be granted patience and strength,” she said.

Special Staff to the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Chico Hakim, stated that Governor Pramono Anung has also conveyed condolences and ordered relevant agencies to provide maximum assistance.

“She was a highly dedicated educator who has enlightened the nation’s next generation. On the instruction of the Governor, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will wholeheartedly support the victim’s family, both in funeral arrangements and psychological recovery,” Chico said.

To date, authorities are still conducting further investigations into the cause of the accident involving the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and KRL.

Previously reported, the collision occurred between the Cikarang-bound KRL number PLB 5568A and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek on the Gambir–Surabaya Pasar Turi route around 20:52 WIB on Monday night.

The incident site was at the platform of Bekasi Timur Station at KM 28+920.

The accident is believed to have resulted from the KRL hitting a Green SM taxi at a crossing near the gate.

Police recorded 15 fatalities in the incident.

Meanwhile, 240 passengers on the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported safe.
