Teacher Nurlela Becomes Victim of KRL Accident in Bekasi, Disdik Provides Support
Four residents of DKI Jakarta Province were reported to have died in the KRL Commuter Line accident at Bekasi Timur Station in Bekasi City, West Java, on Monday night (27/4/2026) WIB. One of the identified victims was Nurlela, a teacher at SDN Pulogebang 11 in East Jakarta.
The Head of the DKI Jakarta Education Department (Disdik), Nahdiana, expressed profound condolences over the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station. Especially since one of the fatalities was a teacher.
“We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs Nurlela, one of our dedicated teachers. On behalf of the entire DKI Jakarta Education Department family, we extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” said Nahdiana in Jakarta on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
Nahdiana also prayed that the deceased be accepted by the Almighty God. Meanwhile, she prayed for the bereaved family to be granted strength. “May the deceased be accepted by the Almighty God and may the family be granted patience and strength,” she said.
According to Nahdiana, the DKI Disdik will provide comprehensive support to the victim’s family. The support includes funeral arrangements, administration, and psychosocial assistance.
Jakarta Governor’s Special Staff, Chico Hakim, explained that Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo, who is currently abroad, is monitoring developments regarding the train collision at Bekasi Timur Station. According to him, Pramono also extended condolences to all victims, especially Nurlela.
“Governor Pramono Anung extends his deepest condolences over the death of Mrs Nurlela. She was a highly dedicated educator who enlightened the nation’s next generation,” said Chico.
According to him, Pramono has also instructed his apparatus to fully support the victim’s family, from funeral arrangements to psychological recovery. The DKI Provincial Government will also continue intensive coordination with all relevant parties to ensure that the handling and follow-up of the incident is carried out quickly, accurately, and transparently.
“The Jakarta Provincial Government expresses thanks to all parties involved in the post-accident handling and asks for prayers and support from the community so that the victim’s family is granted strength,” Chico stated.
Previously, Deputy Governor (Wagub) of DKI Rano Karno paid condolences to the home of one of the deceased victims in the train accident at Bekasi Timur Station on Tuesday afternoon. Rano directly visited the funeral home located in the Kemayoran area, Central Jakarta.
He said he had been monitoring information about the train accident that occurred at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday night WIB. Rano had also ordered several of his subordinates to assist with the evacuation process at the incident site.
“Last night I saw the incident in Bekasi on television and immediately that night I ordered Jakarta to help Bekasi. Insha Allah, our BPBD went down to Bekasi, then our PMI also went down to Bekasi, even some friends from the Fire Department also went down to Bekasi,” said Rano when met in the Kemayoran area on Tuesday afternoon WIB.
According to him, based on preliminary data, there were 14 fatalities in the incident. Of the total fatalities, four were reported to be Jakarta residents.
