Teacher Nurlaela's Final Commute Home from Work
The KRL train from Bekasi Timur Station to Cikarang Timur became Nurlaela’s final commute home from work. The train, which she used daily to travel to and from teaching, now serves as the vehicle that carried her to meet the Divine.
Nurlaela (37) was one of the victims in the train accident incident involving the KA Argo Bromo and a KRL at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday night (27/4/2026). Many people mourn the loss of this hardworking individual.
Nurlaela was known to be a primary school teacher in Pejagan Pulogebang. The late teacher had recently completed her master’s degree at Jakarta State University (UNJ).
Every day, Nurlaela routinely used the KRL to commute to her teaching job. She taught from morning until afternoon.
On that Monday night, Nurlaela did not return home from teaching. According to her uncle, Mulyadi, the family was extremely worried, and her phone went unanswered.
“We were already worried because she hadn’t come home; when we called, she didn’t pick up. When it was finally answered, it was someone else. The authorities said the phone was found, but the victim’s whereabouts were unknown,” he said.
It was only on Tuesday night (28/4) at 01:00 WIB that Mulyadi learned Nurlaela was a victim in the train accident in Bekasi. Nurlaela’s body was brought to the mourning house in Kampung Ceger, RT 02 RW 02, Desa Tanjungbaru, Kecamatan Cikarang Timur, Kabupaten Bekasi.
“At one o’clock, we finally met, coordinated, and picked her up. We arrived home at three in the morning,” he said.
Many people miss the figure of Teacher Nurlaela, known for her perseverance. Nurlaela leaves behind a child currently in the sixth grade of primary school. The late teacher was buried in the family cemetery complex, not far from the mourning house.
