Teacher Found Dead in Semarang Dormitory with No Signs of Violence

A man identified as IP (43) was found dead in a dormitory room in Semarang Tengah District, Semarang City, Central Java (Jateng). The victim was discovered in a state of advanced decomposition.

“The victim, IP (43), a male from Semarang Regency, working as a teacher, was found in his dormitory room around 4:00 PM WIB by fellow residents,” said Semarang Tengah Police Chief Kompol Sugito, as reported by detikJateng on Friday, 29 May 2026.

The incident began when other dorm residents returned from work and inquired about the victim’s whereabouts from the dorm owner. The victim was reportedly not seen leaving his room since morning.

“A witness then checked the victim’s room using a torch. Upon inspection, the victim was found lying on the bed with a darkened face,” he added.

Police officers, along with the Polrestabes Semarang Inafis team, subsequently visited the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation. The cause of death remains unknown.

“Initial examinations revealed no signs of violence on the victim’s body, and the body had begun to decompose,” he explained.
